About Us

OVO is a theatre company based in St Albans, England.

The company was founded in 2002 by Adam Nichols and Simon Nicholas and is now led by a board of trustees including Imogen de la Bere, Jeremy Harding, Kate Kellner, Adam Nichols, James Pitchford and David Widdowson.

Our name comes from the latin ‘ab ovo’ meaning ‘from the beginning’.

We produce around half a dozen productions each year at the Maltings Arts Theatre, which we run on behalf of St Albans City and District Council.  We also appear regularly at other theatres both locally and nationally and have, in recent years, toured our productions to London, Stratford upon Avon and Edinburgh, and presented our work in the open air.
